In line with our commitment to professional standards and compliance, we refrain from servicing or repairing radios that fail to adhere to the guidelines of Canadian Spectrum Management and Telecommunications, as stipulated by Innovation, Science and Economic Development Canada. Frequencies are strictly regulated by the government for specific applications. As a result, ISED stresses the importance of ensuring that individuals programming radios, such as our qualified radio technicians, have a thorough understanding of the approved frequencies and their designated uses.

Radio Licensing Information

Land Mobile Radios require licensing through ISED (Innovation, Science and Economic Development Canada). While FRS, GMRS, and CB radios are often considered license-free, it is important to note that the radios we offer differ in terms of regulatory compliance.

The majority of our clientele typically seek authorization for the RR channels, commonly referred to as the ‘RR Appendix’, as well as the ‘Appendix 6’ frequencies which permit the use of LADD channels. These can be used without obtaining a radio license for communication when using Resource Roads but are not designed to be used for personal communication.
